Dental assistant

Duties and responsibilities: a dental assistant works alongside of a dentist in treatment of patients. They perform many tasks  requiring both interpersonal and technical skills.often varying from the work they do.Other things they might do is take a patient's x-rays,  taking blood pressure and pulse along asking about their medical history, talking to patients about the correct way to maintain oral health, performing office management tasks. Required to have great listening ,speaking skills and discipline skills. Needing these skills when helping patients feel comfortable before during and after dental treatment. All assistants performing/ working in dentist office.

Salary: Annually earning $34,740

Education: Depending on weather its a certificate,diploma, or degree program it can take 9 to 2 years. To be a certified dental assistant you need to reach the education/experience by DANB and pass the examination test.

Demand or need for this profession: growing 18% from 2014 to 2014.

Yes i think i would like to be a dental assistant. I think i would because it seems interesting how you don't do what the dentist does but it's something like it. It doesn't seem like a stressful position. Also you get to comfort people and i think i'm good at helping people feel better etc. Another thing is that we don't touch the teeth or none of that.
