Optometry Technician or Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:

They work with optometrists to conduct eye examinations and give treatments. For the most part they are found in an optometrist's office but at times can be found in a clinic or other vision treatment facilities.They should have good attitude, be patient and helpful, they must also be very respectful to patients. Most of their responsibilities require testing patients' visual acuity, depth perception, pressure inside of the eye, color vision and pupil reflexes. Other things they made do is prepare exam rooms, the exams etc. Lastly a Optometric technician or assistant repair or makes glasses.

Salary: $30,590 (median salary)

Education:

Training is requires (training programs), high school diploma, and MUST have an associate's degree.

I wouldn’t like to become one because it doesn't seem like a challenge. I would get bored of this job. Even though it’s a good medical career, I wouldn't enjoy it.
